SERVPRO’s Response to Wildfires and Debris Cleanup
8/12/2021 (Permalink)
Wildfires have rapidly broken out across the west coast due to extended drought and record high temperatures. These drier than normal conditions have led to further fueling these wildfires.
These wildfires have been causing fire and smoke destruction, as well as secondary water and soot damage. Fortunately, SERVPRO of South Shasta County is here and ready to respond. SERVPRO of South Shasta County and our neighboring franchises have assigned Disaster Recovery Teams that have been activated to assist local Franchises with cleanup.
These disasters often create a significant number of debris which can include ash, concrete, metal, building materials, hazardous materials, and contaminated soil. Disaster debris must be extracted and properly managed to minimize threats to public health and safety, help communities recover and rebuild and to help protect the environment.
This Year we have been faced with terrible losses such as destroyed property and devastation to our environment. Furthermore our condolences go out to any who have lost friends and loved ones due to these recent disasters.
