Finding Water Leaks in a Commercial Building
2/2/2022 (Permalink)
Water leaks gone undetected can cause a substantial amount of damage, especially if these leaks aren’t addressed sooner than later. Here is a list of the most common types of leaks in commercial properties and how you can fix them.
- Toilet Leaks – Toilets have many parts that can deteriorate and lead to issues. Damaged parts often cause other parts to become faulty, and that is why it is important to replace toilet components as soon as they begin to deteriorate.
- Faucet Leaks – Frequently used faucet part can wear out over time and when a seal or other component begins to leak, it can result in water loss. To avoid this make sure to address any leaking sinks as soon as possible.
- Underground Leaks – Unfortunately these leaks often go undetected, but there are revealing signs of them taking place. Scan areas for wet patches of soil where plants may be growing faster then other areas. This would be the possible result of a water supply line leaking underground. Another way to detect an underground leak would be to watch for rises in your water bill.
- Hidden Leaks – These leaks are the most difficult to detect and can cause the most substantial damage due to them going unnoticed. The best way to detect a hidden leak is to look for water marks or the swelling of walls, ceilings and floors.
